Openbook.org started out in the year 2003 as a website about both commodity futures trading and MLS real estate listings. Its early connotation was regarding trading the financial markets where the floor brokers used an "open book" which contained their buy and sell orders. Openbook's early real estate connection was in the sense the MLS listings are an "open book" of properties for sale for Realtor® use to find relevant homes for their buyers.

The Openbook.org futures trading and real estate content was online from 2003 thru early 2010, at which time we decided due to the growing popularity of social networks to convert the openbook front-page to a different kind of "open book" filled with real-time posts of Facebook member status updates. However, we still are offering both real estate and commodity trading services and information via our old openbook.org webpages even after targeting our primary page to a different kind of "open book" filled with real-time posts of live Facebook member status updates.
